Born in Zagreb, Croatia [1967], he lives and works in Breda, the Netherlands. He was educated in philosophy and literature. His artistic biography [as artistic manager, creator, director and choreographer] equals the biography of MONTAZSTROJ. In 1989 he founded the company with the initial idea that the complete artwork is realized not only in theatre, but also in all art media and their mutual correlation. |

| The first 7 years of cultural activity named 'THEATRICAL REPRESENTATION OF THE FOOTBALL AND POP CULTURE' the Company spent in a systematic research of dominant physical stage expression; creating its own theatrical syntax by confronting, combining and merging modernistic approaches and methods [Mayerhold, Artaud] with recycled contemporary Western styles of presentation. By separating himself from the logo-centric tradition of Middle-European theatre [as well as from the tradition of the contemporary dance in Croatia], Borut Separovic developed his choreographic vocabulary in the direction of physical theatre. The material for choreography was found in everyday events and led to the radical stage reality that can be described by the terms and slogans presented in company's productions: 'risk', 'athletes of the heart', 'fighting and sport spirit', 'art without God', 'no distance', etc. | ||
