Performance TERRIBLE FISH is inspired by confessional poetry of American poet Sylvia Plath. It is almost impossible to detach Sylvia Plath’s personal life from her work: she always seemed to be questioning who she was. The base for the performance is her poem ‘Three women’ written for BBC radio in 1962. The poem is written for 3 voices and takes place in a maternity ward of a hospital during one night.

The condition of an isolated woman stands central. The performance TERRIBLE FISH focuses feminine identity via female poetry. It employs an intuitive, entirely fragmented structure that leads into an abstract performance where performers reveal diverse layers of female condition in relation with oppositions as: life / death; health / illness; delivery / miscarriage; conscious / unconscious; etc.
TERRIBLE FISH is a multi-layered performance that fuses theatre and dance elements with elements of both conceptual and body art. Installation of flashlights placed on stands creates a space for a "mute concert" revealing the inner-world of an isolated woman. Its specific use of light & dark exposes and examines performers’ bodies and faces and finally creates a surreal journey through light, body and sound-scapes.

During 90 minutes TERRIBLE FISH streams through diverse visual and acoustic passages and balances in between meditative and extremely energetic sections. The final result fuses confessional and physical performance offering a permissive and poetic whole where spectator can wonder, guided by his or her own will and desire.
The performanceTERRIBLE FISH is realized with 3 performers [2 women and 1 man] assisted by an international group of artists who operate in different areas.
