| IDENTITY
is a performance conceived for female and male performer. Its subject is 'relation of intimacy and identity'. |
|
| This duet is inspired by Kundera's novel 'Identity'. When we fail to recognize our companion, for a moment the identity of the loved one ceases to exist, and we come to doubt our own - slipping between the real and the imaginary. | |
| Our concept doesn't accentuate gender issues, but questions emotional relation between individuals who experience confusion and the resulting wave of panic. | |
| 'How
to transform a personal and disturbing experience into a performance? What is our very private intimate language and how it is transformed into performing language? |
|
| Following
Kundera's 'love story', our performing session opens as a successive row
of monologues/solos and advances into a person-to-person communication between
two intriguing personalities who supply each other with answers onstage.
The performance 'IDENTITY' sets in motion complex chain of events, which
forces the audience to cross the boundaries between fantasy and reality. |
